Academic Competitiveness Grant
The Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) was established through the Federal Deficit Reduction Act of 2005.
Eligibility Requirements
- Pell Grant Eligibility
- Be enrolled full time (12 credit hours) in a degree seeking program
- Be enrolled in the first or second academic year of study at a two-year or four-year degree granting institution
- Completed a rigorous secondary school program of study (after January 1, 2005 for sophomores and January 1, 2006 for freshmen)
- Not have been previously enrolled in a degree granting program (if a freshman)
- Have at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the first academic year (for second-year students)
Application Process
- File a FAFSA with correct signatures by March 11
Award Information
- Will provide up to $750 in the first academic year
- Will provide up to $1,300 in the second academic year
- The grant may be renewed one additional year for up to $1300 provided the student continues to meet the above criteria as a sophomore
