The Commonwealth Award is a state-funded grant that provides assistance to undergraduate Virginia residents.

Eligibility Requirements

• Virginia Residence
• Enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester
• File the FAFSA (with correct signatures) by the March 11 deadline
• Seeking an undergraduate degree
• Need-based - financial need is defined differently from year to year according to fund availability

Application Process

• File the FAFSA by the March 1 deadline
• Must maintain Virginia Tech's reasonable academic progress standards to be considered for future standards

• Award amounts range yearly according to fund availability
