Military Scholarships

Students interested in military scholarships may be required to complete a FAFSA as part of the application process.

Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets

Highty-Tighties

Scholarships are offered to entering freshman in the Virginia Tech Regimental Band (Highty-Tighties).  Award amounts are based on financial need and scholastic record.  For more information, contact:

Air Force (AFROTC)

The Air Force offers scholarships to high school and college students, ranging from two to four years in length. Scholarships are available in all majors, and most pay all tuition and fees at Virginia Tech. Additionally, a book allowance and a monthly $200 non-taxable stipend is provided. 

Scholarship recipients agree to an active duty service commitment of four years except for pilots and navigators, who agree to longer commitments.  Juniors and seniors not on scholarship can still receive $1500 per semester, the book allowance, and the monthly $200 non-taxable stipend.  For more information, contact:

Army (ROTC)

The United States Army offers Army ROTC scholarships ranging from two to four years in length. These scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. Scholarships pay for all costs related to tuition, fees, and uniforms as well as providing $300 per semester for textbooks, supplies and equipment, and a monthly $250 stipend during the academic year.  This stipend increases by $50 a year as the student matriculates.  Eligibility requirements include citizenship, age, and physical criterion.  For more information contact:

Navy-Marine (NROTC)

Recipients of four-year scholarships are selected in national competitions among high school seniors, while recipients of two-year scholarships are selected from college students who have two years of study remaining.  Scholarship benefits include tuition, books, most fees, uniforms, and a monthly allowance of $100.

Minimum obligation is four years of active service in the Navy or Marine Corps, and four years inactive service in the Navy or Marine Reserves. For additional information, contact:
