The Virginia Tech Presidential Scholarship Initiative (VTPSI) is a competitive scholarship program designed to offset the costs of college for in-state Virginia high school students with significant financial need. The program will recognize and reward academically talented students who have shown persistence and a commitment to academic excellence.
Through the Virginia Tech Presidential Scholarship Initiative, a maximum of 50 Virginia residents per year will be awarded renewable, four-year scholarships and will be welcomed into a comprehensive academic and social support community.
To be eligible for the Virginia Tech Presidential Scholarship Initiative, you must meet the following requirements:
Potentially eligible students will automatically be considered for the Virginia Tech Presidential Scholarship Initiative. Selection will be based on a formula that takes into account the students' Federal Pell Grant eligibility, strength of academic record and test scores, first generation status, and family size. The 50 highest ranking candidates will be selected for the scholarship and notified around April 1.
