Scholarship Tips
- Complete the FASFA online and on time.
- Complete the Virginia Tech Office of University Scholarship and Financial Aid General Scholarship Application by March 11.
- If invited, complete the Virginia Tech Honors Program Application on time.http://www.univhonors.vt.edu/
- Check with your College and/or Academic Department. Some academic departments will also consider financial need.
- Check with professional organizations in your chosen career field such as the Business and Professional Women's Foundation.
- Check with large corporations such as Coca-Cola, Clairol, Tylenol and Orville Redenbacher.
- Check with your parents’ place of employment.
- Inquire for scholarships at civic, religious, and community organizations such as Elks, Rotary, Moose, American Legion and home/local churches.
- Remember that deadlines are early in the academic year prior to receiving scholarships, ranging from early fall to very early spring.
- Private organizations may request transcripts, essays, letters of reference, or financial aid forms in additions to an application.
