General Information

Waivers are similar to grants and scholarships because waiver funds do not have to be repaid.  However, the main difference between waivers and grants and scholarships is that waiver funds may only be applied to Virginia Tech tuition and fees.

Students who have another form of scholarship that already covers the cost of Virginia Tech tuition and fees (i.e. ROTC scholarship, full athletic scholarship, etc.) are ineligible to receive waivers.  In some cases, students who participate in education abroad may lose their waiver funds in the event the student is not charged tuition and fees through Virginia Tech.
